FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO CHINA

- Valid passport
(must have at least 6 months validity remaining and 1 blank visa
page).
- One signed and
completed
China
visa application form.
- One passport
photograph.
- Business
travelers: Submit a cover letter on company letterhead
stating business.
- Business
travelers: An invitation from company or organization in China
is also required. For multiple entry visas the invitation
must be issued by a Chinese Government Ministry or authorized
government office, and include their 4-digit reference number.
- Non-US citizens:
submit a copy of your green card, F1, J1 or other US visa.
Please be sure your I-94 is stapled into your passport.

Visa Information
The China tourist or business visa is usually valid for three
months from date of issue, for length of stay not to exceed 30
days. Applications for a touristic stay exceeding 30 days are
not usually considered favorably. Applications for business stay
exceeding 30 days may be considered, but requires an invitation
from the Chinese host organization requesting longer duration
of stay.
Passport must have at least six months remaining validity and
contain at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued.

Multiple Entry Visas
Multiple entry visas for business travelers valid for six months
are also available, but are more complicated to obtain. Your host
in China should request an invitation from the Foreign Ministry
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs) specifying multiple entries for
a period of six months, or one year, plus the office that issued
the invitation must also send a cable to the Chinese Consulate
General in San Francisco confirming the invitation.
Alternatively, invitations may be initiated through your Chinese
host and issued by regional offices of the Foreign Economic
Relations and Trade Commission. (This invitation may be faxed to
